Have a Late 2019 27" iMac Also Magic mouse and Magic Keyboard I go to turn on my iMac and go to type in the password and keyboard will not type it in. Mouse works fine what happened to my keyboard just worked a few days ago..
Have you recharged the keyboard ?
Try connecting the Magic Keyboard via Lightning cable to USB-C or use a standard Lightning cable w/ USB-A and adapter into your iMac.
Once your iMac "sees" the keyboard via cable, it will resume operation.
After it full charges, disconnect and you will have wireless operation.
