keynote black screen

Hi community, I have a simple question that I haven't been able to find an answer for so far.

How oh how when working with two monitors in Keynote, do I set Keynote in such a way that it only uses a single monitor? So no black screen, no presenter display. The black screen makes it impossible for me to present on a Zoom call.

I'm hoping I'm missing something very simple here. I'll feel a bit silly, but the problem will have been solved.

Using 3 screens with Keynote, without blanking one out? I'm not sure if this has been asked recently, as I could only find a very old thread about this. If this shortfall hasn't been sorted yet, has someone found a good workaround? Toggling between windows doesn't work for me, as I need to be able to monitor the chat while presenting.

Keynote: Can't see presenter notes when using external monitor I use an external monitor to display slides in Keynote. Connected via HDMI port. Laptop display set to "main" and external set to "extended." According to Apple, when I start a presentation in fullscreen, I should see it on the external (this does happen), and the laptop should show the presenter display (this doesn't; the laptop just goes black.) If I press x, the displays switch as instructions say they will: the slides are on the laptop and the external goes black. But it's still black. The best I can do for presentations is to mirror the displays, and then at least I see the slide on my laptop. I know this isn't how it's supposed to work. What am I missing?

In Keynote, go to the Play menu > Play slideshow in Window
