Is it advisable to remove my SIM card before sending to new owner? Will this remove personal information?

I would never give away/or sell any device with my SIM card in it, and I'd always perform this procedure in advance:--> What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
