Lost text messages
On Sunday may 9, Mother’s Day. Everyone that sent me a message, somehow, all texts to those individuals prior to this date have been lost. Is there anyway to recover them?

from here Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support so long as you have one and you didn't sync message to icloud.
