Macbook CPU temperature too high?

The CPU temperature of my late 2016 MacBook Pro is 75-85 degrees celsius when browsing/not using CPU-intensive stuff. When running training ML models for school it often goes up 100 degrees or more at which point I terminate the execution since I am worried about my laptop. Is this normal? Shouldn't temperature management reduce the frequency or something when the temperature gets above 100 degrees? - I did not do anything that would interfere with Apple's temperature management. What can I do about this?

Thank you in advance!

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 11.2
