Wi-Fi Assist not operable on my iphone.

my iPhone used to switch between wifi and mobile with no problem. Now it does not switch. Wi-Fi Assist not operable on my iphone. Can not toggle it off or on. Do I need to set cellular Data on?

If you have cellular data turned off then it would cause your symptoms.

WiFi assist not working in a iPhone 11 Pro This feature is not at all working in iPhone 11 series. When WiFi is dropped the phone keep WiFi on abs using cellular data from phone. It’s so annoying mew phone behaves with flaws. Turn Wi-Fi Assist on or off Go to Settings > Cellular or Settings > Mobile Data. Then scroll down and tap the slider for Wi-Fi Assist.
