iPhone 6s+ Won't Recover From Restore

I was trying to free up some space on my iPhone 6s+; specifically I wanted to reduce the "Other", below System in the iPhone Storage settings. I read an article that said to:

  1. backup the phone
  2. reset all settings
  3. restore the phone

I performed this while the phone was connected to my iMac 2019 via Finder. I got through the 1st two steps, no problem, but when I clicked Restore, the phone shutdown. When it tried to boot back up, it doesn't go past the Apple logo, which displays for about 10 seconds and the then the screen goes dark for 5 seconds and then it repeats this all over again. It's been doing this for about 10 minutes now. The Mac doesn't detect it in Finder. I tried to manually power it down by holding the power button, but it doesn't do anything - it's stuck in this cycle of trying to boot.

Any idea what's going on?
