Weather Complications Slow To Update?

I notice on my iPhone 11/Apple Watch 5 combo that when I power up my Apple Watch 5 it seems to take forever to get my Infograph watch face weather complications (i.e. the Apple Weather complications for temperature, wind, UV) to show data on the watch face. If I tap on the complication itself it seems to show the correct weather data. Sometimes I even have to force a download of the watch face before the weather complications show data. What am I doing wrong please? Thanks.

We understand you're having some difficulties getting the weather on your Apple Watch face to load and we'd be happy to help assist. First, we'll want to be sure that both your Apple Watch and the iPhone it is paired to are completely up to date with the latest software. The following articles will help walk you through that process, if needed.

Update your Apple Watch

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Also, can you verify that the Apple Weather app is showing on your iPhone? Or do you use a third-party weather app on your device?

We look forward to hearing from you.

guess you are using carrot weather. Either you use or another 3rd party app, every 3rd party app has their own update frequencies. Not sure but apple does not allow to update complications like every minute or so I suppose. As far as I know it is 15 minutes but I may be wrong. And again, if you are talking about carrot you need to ask developer or check your premium subscriptions as carrot updates complications according to your premium subscription, also other apps.

Hi Leanne_68,

Thank you for replying to my question. My iPhone 11 is running iOS 14.6 and my Apple Watch 5 is running watchOS 7.5, both which are the latest levels.

I believe I am using the Apple Weather app for the complications. I booted the Apple watch, waited 15 minutes, and this is what I see on my Infograph watch face (see below). Shouldn't the weather complications be updated by now?
