Apple Watch Ultra Wayfinder Bezel Does Not Show Lat/Long numbers - Always Updating...

Hi,


It's always showing Latitude: ---.----- and Longitude: ---.----- Updating...

Watch OS version is 9.0.2 (20R8391) -- It started after I updated the OS on the watch. Until then I remember seeing it working. Cellular is not setup on my watch and I am not going to set that up yet.



The Compass app on the Ultra works just fine.


I've tried rebooting the watch, resetting the watch, rebooting my phone - but to no avail. Anyone else seeing this issue?


It's terrible that the one new face that is unique to the Ultra watch is buggy!

Please try this and hope it solves the issue:

1) in your iPhone, make sure that the is ON. You can get this from Settings->Privacy & Security-> Location Services).

2) Once clicking on “Location Services”and setting it ON, please browse in the list of apps until you find the one named “Apple Watch Faces” and click on it.

3) Select how you want to Allow the Location Access. I have set mine to Always.

We understand that these location features work as expected in the Compass app, but not from the watch face that you have set. I have tried all sorts of solutions:

  1. remove and add the Wayfinder face back
  2. reset the watch and re-pair it with my phone
  3. reboot both the phone and the watch
  4. combination of (3), followed by (1)


i have been working with Apple support, running diagnostics and sending back logs for anslysis from both the watch and the phone.


still no luck with a solution.

It was working when I got it, then it stopped working at some point after the iOS update. I worked with Apple support to provide them with logs for both the phone and watch a few times and I was under the impression that they were looking into the issue. So I assumed that since it worked and then failed later, that it was a software issue.


I am waiting on Apple support to update me on the fix. Either they fix it or they should send me a replacement watch, at this point it does not matter.

Apple support was very responsive to get the analytics/logs for the problem and I spent a fair bit of time giving them the information. But its been about a month and either they've not figured it out yet or have simply not deemed it a high enough priority to release a fix for it.


Either way, we're stuck with a watch whose big feature doesn't work on their new face! I'm just curious to find out what is wrong with our watches to get it to that state.
