Outdoor run race route

Hey,

I've got the latest update for the apple watch and was keen to compete against my previous runs.

I have done the same 'route' including start & stop same spot. Same duration run. Exact same course many many times before.

but when i select outdoor run - route - nothing appears.

I've given it a few days to collect the data and hope they will appear but nothing.

I have checked with other apple watch users who run less frequently and have completed less runs on their routes and theirs are appearing. So not sure what i'm doing wrong.

Thanks.

Hey there Kimmyhart,

We'd like to help rule out some possible causes, along with confirming more details to better understand what's happening:

  1. When did this first start to occur?
  2. You mentioned not being able to view your running route, but we wanted to provide a link that has more details about running workouts for your reference: Run with your Apple Watch We wanted to call special attention to the section 'View your route'. Are those the steps you're taking to try viewing your route?
  3. Sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone and How to restart your Apple Watch
  4. If you're paired with a compatible iPhone model, the latest version is iOS 16.2. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  5. Since you have a compatible watch model, the latest version is watchOS 9.2. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to Update your Apple Watch.

Cheers!

Thank you for your reply.

This started happening since the update when the ‘race route’ became a thing.

I've now done the same run 1 week apart and still no luck getting it to appear.

Watch and phone both latest updates.

Have also restarted watch.

Only thing I can think of is that my watch is only a few months old so have probably only done the same run those two times on this actually device. (Old watch did this run many times)

So if I do a few more times should appear.
