Replaced AirPods Pro (service program for sound issues). Now they won’t switch among devices.

Hi,


I recently replaced my AirPods Pro with the service program for sound issues. The new pair sounds fantastic; however, they are no longer switching between my iPhone and iPad. This was not a problem with the old pair with sound issues. Any suggestions on what to do?

Based on what you've described, we would first suggest checking to make sure the feature is enabled:


  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth your iPhone while your AirPods in your ears.
  2. Tap the info button  next to your AirPods in the list of devices
  3. If the feature is off, tap Automatically.


For more information Connect and use your AirPods and AirPods Pro - Apple Support.

We appreciate you confirming the automatic device switching was enabled, and that you have reset your AirPods.


Next, we would recommend making sure both your iPhone and your iPad are running the latest software release for iOS and iPadOS, version 14.6: Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support, and that you are signed into iCloud with the same Apple ID on both your iPhone and iPad: Sign in with your Apple ID - Apple Support.
