If you get a corrupted message...
Naw, not damaged, it's just that you have an old copy already in Applications, there are 2 cures...
Disconnect from the Internet & set the Date back to 2014, then you can run the Install MacsOS Mohave App in Applications, so expired Certificates are not expired.
Or... trash the Install MacsOS Mojave.app in Applications, empty trash & restart, then a new copy of a more recent version can be downloaded.

Upgrade to High Sierra First:
What you need to do is upgrade to High Sierra (macOS 13), and then upgrade to Mojave (or after) from there. Get the installers here: How to Get Old Versions of macOS - Apple Support
Check out this link from apple, it will tell you how to upgrade from an older osx
If there are no updates for your OS, then nothing. Unless you want to Upgrade to the latest OSX (Big Sur), then you would have to go to the Mac (App) Store and upgrade it for free (if your mac is compatible with big sur.) which os version and mac do you have?
EDIT: You have to download Mojave manually and upgrade it. I don't think you can do it from the app store anymore or the usual method.
it's supposed to show on System Preferences. Or click on the Apple (upper left corner), About this Mac, Software Update. It will check for software updates.
Thanks, now I got it... however it is not showing any update for the OS, whereas my Mac is actually on an older version! What to do next?
