How can I disable stupid auto-arrange?

I had my iPhone 12 Home Screen laid out pretty much the way I wanted it; then suddenly a couple of icons were in the wrong place. I spent an hour trying to fix it but it only got worse, now every thing is in the wrong place. Why oh why does Apple think think anybody likes this ridiculous design?

When you move an App (Say X), after all the App starts to wiggle, the others apps make way for the App X being moved. Other Apps DO NOT re-arrange themselves. If you notice closely. Depending on the place where you want to move the App X the other apps just shift one cell and the original sequence is unaltered.

The same is true when you are moving an app within a folder.

Thank you for your reply; however, you haven’t addressed my question, which concerns auto-arrange. As for your suggestions, they are valid but do not apply to my situation. I have no kids, in fact I live alone, I have never loaned my iPhone to anyone, it is not a corporate device, I never leave it unlocked, etc. Do you know what “auto-arrange” is? Perhaps the term I used is not exact, but what I mean is when I wish to move an app icon from one position on the screen to another, iOS also moves all of the adjoining icons into whatever places it “thinks” they ought to be. The more I try to arrange the layout the way I want it to be, the more disarrayed it becomes. This is obviously not a new problem in iOS14, it is intrinsic to iOS. Still, it is annoying..,

Smart Phones neither have the intelligence nor has the hostility. Hence we need to look at our device settings and the way we synchronise our smart phones with Mac/PC/iCloud and also how careful are we in sharing our sensitive and valuable information with friends and family members.

Be careful when sharing the device's sensitive and valuable information with friends and family members.

Thumb Rules:

  1. Enable  Guided Access before handing over an iPhone to kids
  2. Don't share Apple IDs
  3. Don't Jail Break
  4. Don't share sensitive information pertaining to your device and payment methods
  5. Is this your corporate iPhone? Do you have any profile installed by your corporate / organisation / enterprise / School Management? Then please contact the system administrator of your corporate / organisation / enterprise / School Management. If you have installed it on your own --> Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone - Apple ...
