I have an older iMac and am considering upgrading. I have started using Fusion360 and am wondering what processor configuration is recommended? Currently I experience quite a bit of delay while operating CAD in Fusion. Thanks for the help.

We don't know the specs on the next iMac 27 will be, other than it will have the Apple Silicon processor. You may wish to wait to see those specs.
The screen on new 24-inch iMac M1 may no be large enough, and that model is currently limited to 16GB of non-upgradeable RAM. The current iMac 27 is user-upgradeable to 128GB RAM. The 27" also has more ports, important in a pro app setting.

It depends on what CPU your software supports. If the version is native to the M1, it will be very fast.
Autodesk has never been Mac Friendly.

If you are using bootcamp with Windows partition, you need an Intel processor, since virtual machines on the M1 are problematic.
If you are using the Web-based version, you would get an M1 since Safari would run natively. If you are using some other browser, it depends on whether it is native yet or not.
