What processor is best for CAD?

I have an older iMac and am considering upgrading. I have started using Fusion360 and am wondering what processor configuration is recommended? Currently I experience quite a bit of delay while operating CAD in Fusion. Thanks for the help.

I also think checking with the software developer is a good idea but, if buying today, I would get a 27-inch iMac with the top processor, which is an Intel i9 at the moment.

We don't know the specs on the next iMac 27 will be, other than it will have the Apple Silicon processor. You may wish to wait to see those specs.

The screen on new 24-inch iMac M1 may no be large enough, and that model is currently limited to 16GB of non-upgradeable RAM. The current iMac 27 is user-upgradeable to 128GB RAM. The 27" also has more ports, important in a pro app setting.
