Screen Time Photos Privacy Setting Bypassed

In Screen Time, under Content & Privacy Restriction, there is an option to disallow changes being made to the Privacy Photos setting for the apps. It basically locks up the settings in the Privacy>Photos so no further changes can be made to let the apps to access the photos.

The problem is if you go to the individual app settings in the Settings page, or sent there by the app, you can make changes there to allow photos access and completely bypassed the Screen Time restriction settings.

Anyway to completely disallow the apps to access the photos? Setting up the device for my child. Currently on iOS 14.6.

iPad Pro, iPadOS 14

Hello KelvBlueLKY,

Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities. If we understand correctly, after setting up restrictions for accessing photos, you're still able to give permission to apps by going to the specific app settings. Is that right? If so, we recommend ensuring the iPad software and apps are fully updated, and double-checking the settings. If an update is needed, back up first. Here are some guides to help, just in case:

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

How to manually update apps on your Apple device

Then, check the settings one more time: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Keep us posted.

Take care.
