Voice recordings in iMessage

When I save an audio recording I receive via iMessage or text message, where does the recording save to? where does it go? I do see it in the Voice Memos application.

Where do saved audio from the iMessages app go when saved on iPhone? When someone sends me an audio file via iMessages there's an option to "save" - Where does it go??? it's not in Files nor does it show up in the Voice Memos, like it used to. This question was asked a couple years ago and only had one reply where they explained a workaround where you could email the files to yourself. Yes, I know you can save them to a bunch of diffrent programs on the phone (eg DropBox, OneNote, etc) but I find it hard to belive that the Save function isn't supposed to land them in the Voice Memos. Like it used to do just fine. It just seems like a dumb apple oversight.

Voice Memos via iMessage Where are Voice Memos saved when received via iMessage? I was sent a Voice Memo via iMessage, and I saved the Voice Memo, but I don't know where it saved to. I checked the Voice Memo app, but it's not there. Anyone know?

Ad far as I know they are stored in Messages app data space unless you “share” them out elsewhere.
