Voice recordings in iMessage

When I save an audio recording I receive via iMessage or text message, where does the recording save to? where does it go? I do see it in the Voice Memos application.

Ad far as I know they are stored in Messages app data space unless you “share” them out elsewhere.

When someone sends me an audio file via iMessages there's an option to "save" - Where does it go??? it's not in Files nor does it show up in the Voice Memos, like it used to. This question was asked a couple years ago and only had one reply where they explained a workaround where you could email the files to yourself. Yes, I know you can save them to a bunch of diffrent programs on the phone (eg DropBox, OneNote, etc) but I find it hard to belive that the Save function isn't supposed to land them in the Voice Memos. Like it used to do just fine. It just seems like a dumb apple oversight.

Voice Memos via iMessage Where are Voice Memos saved when received via iMessage? I was sent a Voice Memo via iMessage, and I saved the Voice Memo, but I don't know where it saved to. I checked the Voice Memo app, but it's not there. Anyone know?
