iPhone 7 is slow and unresponsive

Hi I use iPhone 7 and recently it’s having a lot of trouble. It is old but it should work right? Sometimes it becomes really sluggish and it refuses to open apps(even settings) or do anything (I can open control center but options don’t work). If I shut it down and start again it will open settings but my hotspot(which I use frequently ) stops working it says contact your carrier and I have to do a reset all settings (just network doesn’t fix it) and make all changes again. Any ideas how to fix it? iOS is up to date(14.6)

How much free storage do you have locally on the iPhone ? If it is low, this could explain your performance issues. Check for what is available under Settings > General > iPhone storage.
