Thx Less, but that failed on multiple attempts. I ended up backing up the old phone on my Mac and using that which did work. The Apple Music library was missing- the trick was to simply reboot the phone to force the sync. Oddly, none of the 3 chat specialists at Apple suggested to do that. Glad I thought of it and hopefully it can help someone else :)
