Touch Bar not working

Yesterday, my touch bar froze. After looking at support forums, I tried resetting the computer, shutting it down, killing the touch bar in the terminal, and eventually ended up resetting the SVM. While resetting the SVM unfroze the touch bar, it is now turned off--it is not illuminated, nor does it respond when I press on it. Since then, I've tried resetting the SVM, resetting the NVRAM, running first aid on the internal hardware and disc images, and also re-installing the macOS. I've ensured that everything is updated on the computer software-wise. The issue persists in safe mode, which tells me that this is either a hardware or a software problem with the new update.

To sum, I've tried about everything I could think of and that I could find on the support forums, but my touch bar isn't working and does not illuminate or respond to touch. Has anyone else had this issue? I'm close to doing a factory reset of my mac, but I don't think that would necessarily solve anything if it is a hardware issue.
