Am I able to change my apple ID user name?

I set up my apple as ***@gmail.com

This used to be my primary e-mail address but I know longer use the e-mail address for potential concerning security breach purposes. Am I able to change my Apple ID or will I have to create a new one?

If I have to creat a new Apple ID account how do I transfer all of my data over?
