iPod touch dropping wifi

My iPod touch keeps dropping WiFi. It can see the Wifi, & will happily connect when I manually connect it but if you leave the iPod for any length of time it drops the WiFi connection completely. Anyone any polite suggestions please?

  1. Go into the Wi-Fi Settings on the iPod and use the Forget This Network option to "forget" your router. Then set up the connection again between your iPod and the router. Don't forget that you will need the router's password to do this
  2. Restart the router
  3. Make sure that you are not too far away from the router, it only has limited range. Thick, or stone walls will reduce the range; so if there is a very thick solid wall, or a stone wall, between the router and your iPod, then the iPod may get only a weak signal
