iPhone won't charge after iOS 14.4.3 update

I go through this every time there is an iOS update: my iPhone XS won't charge. I have turned it off, reset it, tried different lightning cables, bought new cables, cleaned the hole, used three different charging pads. Sometimes it charges to 100%, and then goes back to not charging. Gratifying to know that other people have had and still have the same problem and that it seems to be in the software not in the hardware. But it is infuriating that Apple continues not to fix the software.

Interesting that one has to choose device and topic before posting, but that the topic of charging the device is not one of the topics.

Does anyone have any new ideas for fixing the problem other than a different phone?
