When will the google virus tracking software be removed?

When is google’s malicious tracking software installed on the I phone being removed? I have always felt this should have been a opt in app not forced on us we should never have had this installed on our phones.

There is no tracking software for COVID-19 on your phone and never has been. There is a hook function (an API, or Application Programming Interface) that allows you to install a TRACING (not TRACKING) app on your phone that tells you if you have been near other people with the same app who have reported to the app that they may be infected. It does not tell you where you were near them, and doesn’t tell you who they were. And vice versa. If you don’t install the app, or don’t turn on the API, for all practical purposes it doesn’t exist.

However, if you are so concerned about being tracked, why do you have a cell phone at all? As long as you have a phone you are tracked constantly. And not anonymously, like the COVID-19 API is.

What version do you have? You do realize that every update blocks newly discovered vulnerabilities that can compromise the security of your phone? That can allow hacked websites to install spyware on your phone? I guess that having the ability to add an app that can protect your health (only if you choose to) is a much greater risk in your mind than the spyware that may have already been installed on your phone.

Sigh.....Google and Apple partnered to build an API health departments can use for an app to permit you to opt in to Covid tracking IF and ONLY IF, your local health department offers an App for such purpose. It does NOT mean Google is tracking you. And you would have to OPT IN to such an app to begin with. If you didn't opt in, or your health department doesn't even off such an app, you can't be tracked. And the app doesn't actually track you to begin with. It lets you know if your phone has come in close proximity to someone who has tested positive to the Covid19 Virus. It doesn't know who you are, nor the person you may have been near. And again, if you didn't opt in, no one is tracking you to begin with.

Your paranoia, is getting the best of you here.
