Install Samsung t5 problems - Security & Privacy settings

I have recently upgraded to Big Sur and tried to install the drivers for my Samsung T5 portable drive. On first install, i clicked past the required changes to the Security & Privacy settings and now I cant go back and select them to allow the drive to be recognised, via the driver install process

I have deinstalled the Samsung software and drivers, but on reinstall the OS won't re-invoke the prompt to allow the drivers to be approved.

Elsewhere the fix is cited as putting the Mac into recovery mode and using a command line via Terminal to disable the consent to allow the drivers to be approved.

Does anybody have a simpler idea?

+1. to BobTheFisherman's recommendation. you should use disk utility to erase and format the drive. not only are the samsung drivers not needed, those drivers can become non-functioning after macOS upgrades/updates. at best this creates a headache for you, and at worst, data loss.
