Apple ID password and keychain

Before I spend hours troubleshooting this, I am trying to find out if Apple not using Keychain for user name and password for access to the App Store, iTunes, etc. is normal or I have a problem.

And yes, once I sign in, I don't have to access the password again (usually). This only came up because I changed my Apple ID password.

If you sign out of the App Store, it would be interesting if your Keychain would automatically access your password for you on your (iPhone, iPad, ?).

Not sure you answered my question. So help me out.

I changed my Apple ID password on my Mac. When my iPhone and iPad (and AppleTV) ask for the new Apple ID password, it does not appear in Keychain, even though that is all synced across the devices (and works for other passwords).

But once I enter it, I only have to enter it once. It does not keep asking me.

Yes. It works on all the passwords. Occasionally AppleTV requires me to type it in manually with is a pain. But websites, etc. come through loud and clear. Keychain updates when I change a password.

The only time Keychain does not seem to operate is when Apple asks for my password.

If you are not signed in the App Store, it should not have allowed you to 'purchase' a free app.

Anyway, that does not help. Unless you can confirm that your Keychain can sign you in to the App Store, there is nothing you can do to help me.

Are you telling me that if the App Store asks for my ID and password, that it should work with Keychain?

Darn. I guess you could sign out of the iTunes store. Then try signing back in and see if Keychain knows the password.

Perhaps you can see everything, but I doubt you can download, even free stuff. At least that is the way it is on iOS.
