1st January 1970
I noticed that after moving to Big Sur that my drive dates changed.
The new dates did not match any dates on which I had carried out formatting.
Even stranger, both the Created AND Modified dates are the same.
This makes no sense as even booting effects the modified date.
The dates in question is: 1 January 2020.
After experiencing other ‘issues’ with the Big Sur install, I was given a FOC Apple Genius Bar appt.
Whilst there I got my GENIUS to to check at least two computers in the Local Apple Store. He came back and confirmed that both machines had shown the very same date for both Created and Modified events. He was surprised, but had no idea of why, nor any natural curiosity as to regards to finding out why.
My question is 2 parter.
- Anyone know why?
- Is there any connection to the UNIX start of time 1 January 1970 issues; possibly a way around the January 19 2038 03:14 am UTC and the 32 bit system problems?
