Issues with Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate

Issue:

I experience a ~5-10 second period of no audio or video during content changes (e.g., leaving an episode to return to the ATV menu) when I have Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate enabled. The delay is so long that my LG CX presents a (paraphrased) "Check your source" message. Is this normal? I would imagine the transition between content configuration would be more seamless but nothing short of disabling both settings resolves this issue.

Environment:

ATV 4k 1st gen > Hue Sync Box > Yamaha YAS-207 sound bar > LG CX

ATV 4K Settings:

Default format: 4K SDR or 4K HDR

Chroma: 4:4:4

Match Dynamic Range: Enabled

Match Frame Rate: Enabled

All HDMI cables are 2.1 compatible

Verified the Hue Sync Box and YAS-207 are 4K/60 pass-through capable

See if it improves when changing the chroma setting to 4:2:0. This wouldn’t affect visual quality, as all streaming video is encoded using 4:2:0 chroma anyway.

The point is that 4:4:4 may restrict other video properties (dynamic range, resolution, frame rate), to stay within HDMI 2.0 specification bandwidth limits, possibly causing issues. Your cables may be HDMI 2.1 compatible, but the HDMI port on Apple TV 4K (1st generation) is HDMI 2.0, setting the bandwidth limit.

P.S.: I have reconfigured the ATV to feed directly into the LG CX via an HDMI that is 2.1 compatible and still experience the same issue. This is frustrating as leaving these settings off (Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate) results in juttery images for content filmed at 50 fps (e.g., The Crown) or 24 fps (e.g. The Falcon and Winter Soldier, Scarlet Witch, etc.), especially in long panning shots

Update:

I can live with the 10 second delay between changes in content, but enabling the Match Dynamic Range and Match Frame Rate has brought to light a related issue. When streaming episodes back-to-back, the matching switch must hang in some way to the point where the audio/video will not resume until I manually return to the ATV/streaming service menu, then resume the next episode
