My external hard drive wont stop running

I have a GRAID thunderbolt drive. Today it will not stop reading/writing data. Its driving me crazy and worrying me. Im not doing anything with the files on the drive. Is there a way to understand what its doing through my OS?

Please try restarting in Safe Mode and resetting the NVRAM and see if those help solve the issue:
