Apple pencil 2 compatibilty

Hi, I want to ask if an apple pencil 2 gen bought during the 2019 is still compatible with the last gen of ipad pro 2021 or I have to buy another one, may it's changed something with the operating system

Pencil Compatibility I just purchased a 10.2” 7th gen iPad and would like the 2nd gen pencil, but I’m reading conflicting reports about if it’s compatible or not. Do I need to purchase the 1st gen, or is the 2nd in fact, an option for me? Thanks!
