Thanks a lot, Apple! If you'd have warned me that upgrading my iphone would have screwed up my ability to sync reminders between iphone and my mac, I wouldn't have upgraded my iphone software! My mac is too old and slow to run Catalina

My 2012 Macbook Pro will run too slowly if I upgrade to Catalina, but Apple is telling me that I need to do that to even be able to see the Reminders on my Macbook that are on my iPhone XR which I upgraded to iOS 14.6.

I don't need those spiffy new features in Reminders and just want to go back to the beautiful sync that existed between my Macbook and my iPhone Reminders before!

There should have been a warning message on your iPhone when you upgraded the Reminders app.

you can still see your Reminders on your mac if you go to https://www.icloud.com and login with

your AppleID and password.

Why will your mac run slowly if you upgrade to Catalina, I'm not sure that is everyones experience.

ahh i see

here:

first, make sure you have an archived copy (backup) on a computer somewhere and go to library in finder, then itunes, then iphone software updates, find your desired update and make sure you keep it there

  1. put your phone into recovery mode, hold the power button and a volume button
  2. plug the device into a computer
  3. then press and hold the power button only a recovery mode symbol will apear
  4. on your computer in itunes, a restore pop up should apear
  5. click restore
  6. use the updated for the version you want, i think 13 in your case and you located it earlier
  7. enjoy, if your phone boots into ios 14, just repeat

cheers and good luck , holyschmoe

its a bit long, i hope you are successful,

alternatively, secondhand macbook pro’s are not mega expensive, id look for an M1 as they are the same price as the intel ones for a massive boost in performance

No misunderstand here. Posted in El Capitan and talking about Catalina and Reminder to Sync with iPhone 14.5. Am ruling one machine with High Sierra and iPhone iSO 14.5 and yes Reminder will not sync. Another machine with Catalina and same iPhone and does sync. Another machine with Big Sur and same iPhone and Reminder syncs.

The reality is El Capitan up to and including High Sierra and reminder will not sync. Apple Designed.

Thanks a lot, Apple! If you'd have warned me that upgrading my iphone would have screwed up my ability to sync reminders between iphone and my mac, I wouldn't have upgraded my iphone software! My mac is too old and slow to run Catalina
