Why do I have a mailbox and a folder for the same items in Apple mail?

Last night, I updated to OS Big Sur 11.4 and it messed up my Mail accounts.

Now, for my various email accounts, I have a Sent mailbox and a Sent folder, a Draft Mailbox and a Draft folder, and a Trash mailbox and a Trash folder. I cannot delete the folders. Why not?
