Windows 10 on MacBook with Apple Silicon

I've been thinking about switching to a MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon, but I'm not sure. I regularly use Windows apps like Microsoft Access in addition to MacOS with Parallels Desktop.

Parallels is already optimized for the M1, but Windows 10 not yet.

Is it still possible to run Windows 10 in a certain way on a Mac with Apple Silicon?🤔

And is it possible to install Windows 10 on ARM Insider Preview alongside MacOS without bootcamp by creating a new volume?

Either with Parallels or QEMU.

If you use Parallels, then use a Virtual Disk with the Preview. You do not need a separate volume, unless you must. Bootcamp is unsupported on Apple Silicon.

The Parallels/Windows combination on Intel Macs performs very differently from Parallels/Windows on ARM (with Insider preview). The ARM processors may be better at CPU work, but the performance is based on the Preview and how it is built. In general, Apple Silicon will perform better.

The Parallels/M1 stuff is experimental, and you may see glitches and performance bottlenecks. I do not recommend running any business-critical functions in such an environment.
