Counting Weekly Total Steps

I am new to having a Apple Watch and really do miss my FitBit. Is there a way to see my ongoing total steps for the last seven days as the week continues. I do not want to see the average steps as this is not helpful for me. Seeing the total steps for the last seven days helps me keep up with friends who still have FitBits and participate in challenges with them. FitBit is not compatible with the Apple Watch, which is really disappointing, but I'm giving it a shot and this would really help me feel connected to my workout community.

The only way I can think of is to check this screen, near the end of every day and total them up over the week.it's a bit more complicated in the health app.
