Apple Watch steps counting and pushing stroller/pram

I am looking to buy an Apple Watch (either se or series 6) but the problem is I know some fitness watches don’t count steps (as I have recently discovered...) when pushing a pushchair or stroller, and that’s one of the main reasons I want to get one.

Can anyone with an se watch or series 6 watch confirm that they do actually get steps counted when pushing a pushchair? Many thanks!
