My iPhone 7 stopped getting my new emails. After it says "checking for mail" it then says "Account Error:AOL. Details" When I touch Details, a window appears titled CANNOT GET MAIL,

Touching Details brings up a window that says CANNOT GET MAIL No Password provided for AOL.

Please go to Mail Account Settings and enter a password.

I followed the instructions and put the correct password into the mail account setting. Nothing helps.

Am I supposed to use the password for AOL or an Apple related password?

Nothing to do with Apple, AOL now requires an app specific password to use their account.

contact AOL or look at their support site for more info.

No problem, I've seen many post about this. I'm very surprise that AOL didn't notify their users.
