Image capture - no option to import, only download

Hi, I'm using Image Capture on a Mac Mini with Big Sur and have noticed that the option to Import photos using Image Capture is gone and I can only Download and even that is not working properly.

Previously I have used Image Capture to drag photos to various folders on my MM and when it does that it normally deletes them off the iPhone but this isn't working even if I have "Delete after Import" ticked.

If I select a photo and then Download it downloads it to the nominated folder and then changes the blue tick on the photo to green but does not delete it off my iPhone.

Any ideas?

Yes - don't use delete after import. If anything goes wrong during the transfer, and you end up with no file or a corrupted file on your mac - AND that file is also deleted on your phone by delete after import, then it is gone with no way to recover it.

Much better to download from your phone, import into photos from the folder (and check that everything has transferred successfully, then manually delete from the phone.
