How I can connect my printer Canon MG2420 Pixma to my new iMac ?

iMac 21.5″, macOS 11.3

Please do the following in this order:

 

·Uninstall all Canon software, put in the Trash and empty the Trash.

·Please reset the printing system per Reset the Mac printing system to solve a problem

·Next, follow the instructions in Adding a printer

I have an older printer connected to an older iMac, and just share the printer over my local WiFi to my new iMac. It could be connected directly, but some printer & scanner features don't work without the older drivers that my older iMac is running, so I am still keeping both the older computer and the older printer around for a while. If you were still using the older computer that your printer was used for originally, then you can share it to other computers in your home wired or wireless network, using the Sharing panel in System Preferences.
