Charge cord not fitting in Apple Ipad/Iphone

After reading other posts for cord not fitting properly, I checked for lint, none. It felt like something was obstructing small connector from sliding into charge port. After looking through magnifying glass and poking around with toothpick(plastic), toothpick (wood) I used the edge of a nail file as it is hooked on the one in a nail clipper and I dislodged the Metal tip of the charge cord!! Check the charge cord tip and YES the metal tip frame like the shape of a staple was broken off inside the charge port!! Fixed. Worked for me ... but your discretion as to what tools you use to see if this is whats going on with your charge port.
