Every time I use the reply feature to a specific message, I can't figure out how exit that message without force-quitting the app. Is there any way return to my full iMessage list?

Appreciate the tip; however, the back arrow does not appear on my screen. The only thing there is the pic/info of the person I reply to. I have the latest update iOS and an iPhone 12 through ATT
As you can see I do have it and always have done so I can’t help further.
How do you exit an iMessage reply without having to close the app?
