How can I reset Apple Music preferences?

I subscribed to Apple Music recently and was careless when selecting my music preferences. Now I'm getting all types of music suggested that I'm not interested in. I'd like to more or less reset so I can choose my preferences again and start over.

I have found various suggestions using Google but nothing seems to work. I do the most common one, go to my profile and delete profile. Close the app then, restart my phone, and then select set Up Profile. Supposedly that is when it should set it up like the first time, asking what music I like, etc. but yet it does not. It creates a new profile but then has all the settings from my old profile.

Is there any way to truly reset my preference? TIA.

According to the 'Remove your profile' section in:

Create an Apple Music profile in iTunes on PC - Apple Support

(which I assume also applies to other devices) "If you create your profile again within 90 days, your previous information and followers will be reinstated."

Although the 'Delete your profile' section in:

See what friends are listening to in Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android device - Apple Support

doesn't say that.


Although I am hesitant to suggest this, the only work-around I see is to cancel you Apple Music subscription, let it expire, and then resubscribe.


The only other suggestion I have is to contact Apple Support.
