   1. Remove adware if installed on your Mac..

       Run the latest release of Malwarebytes for Mac to remove malware/adware, if installed on your Mac.

       For instructions: Install Malwarebytes for Mac v4      Uninstall Malwarebytes for Mac

       Click the “FREE DOWNLOAD” button.

       Click the “Scan ” button. Once done, quit Malwarebytes for Mac.

       Restart the computer and relaunch Safari holding the shift key down.

       Scan for Malware again.

       Additional steps  if necessary.

If the pop-up reloads, force quit Safari (command - option/alt - esc) and reopen with the shift key held down. If that doesn't work, disconnect from the Internet, go to Safari/History and delete the website. Quit and reopen with the shift key held down. Then reconnect to the Internet.

There is no hint of malware on your Mac.

I seem to have the same problem, only a different number appears and asks the same thing. I downloaded Malwarebytes and it automatically did a "real time malware scan" and detected 3 files. I did another scan to see if it detects anything else but it didn't. I looked at the files that were previously detected but none of them were the same "number" that originally popped up. After entering the initial 5 digits of that number in finder I found it. How come Malwarebytes didn't detect it? Should I be concerned?

Sometimes these malware vendors can be one step ahead of us.

To allay the concern, I would run Etresoft and check the Security section.

When I did the test I didn't allow full disk access, should I do it or is it unnecessary?
