Reset ipod
I have an iPod with previous owners email address but they haven’t the email anymore and can’t remember their password. What can I do to get in and reset?

You are stuck with Activation Lock-an anti theft feature. There is no way for you to remove it without the original ID and password. See: Activation Lock for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201365
Perhaps the original owner can contact Apple with his/her purchase information, See: Additional Support - Activation Lock
https://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support . then they can follow this procedure so you can use the device: What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201351

I know some links are repeated here but the layout of the reply is different.
"Activation Lock for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch" is a security feature with an added aspect of possibly deterring re-selling of stolen devices (I haven't seen Apple actually declare anywhere that it is an anti-theft feature). To learn more click here --> http://support.apple.com/HT201365
For an individual to remove an activation lock this absolutely requires the information for the account that applied the lock. Click on this link to learn 'How to remove Activation Lock' --> https://support.apple.com/HT201441
If you do not know the required information and you are not the original owner, get the owner of the account to remove the lock or return the device for a refund or recycle it. The device is otherwise useless to you.
Help the person with their Apple ID or password:
• The person doesn't have to have the email address anymore, they just need to know what it was in order to be able to log in.
• "If you forgot your Apple ID password" click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT201487
The resetting service at https://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support is unlikely to help you personally but if the original owner still has the original receipt, they can file for a lock removal.
