Can you get a virus because my iPhone is automatically downloading previews of email attachments?

Hi guys,

Two days ago i started to receive a lot of weird spam mails from different addresses.

These emails contain random letters and an attachment of a video (or a screenshot of a video) and thats it.

Of course I didn’t click on the attachment but my iPhone always downloads previews of the attachments. Is it possible that with downloading this preview a virus can infect my phone?

Thanks in advance for your reactions.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I would not be concerned if all you did was preview the attachments. Apple devices have a very high level of security enabled in the software, which makes It very unlikely that your phone might be 'hacked'.
