I am seeing a window repeatedly warning that the memory on your Mac is low and to close applications to help the problem. When I do a Google search the results switch me to the Yahoo search engine. I suspect malware is the problem. Any suggestions. I've been told Malwarebytes is trusted protection. Thanks.

Suggest downloading from a Trusted Developer and Respected ASC Contributor the application Malwarebytes for Mac. It is free or paid for added features. Run the Application and it should remove the malware / adware. Once done, restart computer and test.

Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode? Could take 10 minutes.
Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches & loads safe Drivers, & prevents loading of 3rd party extensions, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.
