MacOS Internet Recovery Error
I recently was trying to downgrade back to Catalina from BigSur since python's package manager pip3 does not support binaries for the majority of packages for BigSur. Following the common consensus, I wiped the Macintosh disk and the Mancintosh_data disk. Following that, I booted into recovery mode and the MacOS utilities menu was visible. I.e. it had options for disk manager, reinstall macOS etc. However, for some reason, some Apple engineers decided to replace "install MacOS" with "reinstall MacOS BigSur" in that menu (according to tutorials in March 2021 it was still the former). Following this I tried to use a USB to boot; however, after restarting the computer, it can only go into internet recovery mode. If I press cmd-r following restart there is only internet recovery mode. If I press only option key following restart, there is an option to install Catalina. However, if I press that, then it takes me directly to internet recovery mode. Attempting internet recovery mode, I alternate between -1008F and -2003F errors (I removed the device from find my iphone).
So... how to fix this?
