M1 DDC/CI
Is there a possibility that Apple will add DDC / CI support to the M1 chip?
This Silicon platform has been out for 7 months, is it possible they haven't provided support yet?

There is now a version of the free app MonitorControl that supports DDC control for Apple Silicon Macs (USB-C/DisplayPort only, HDMI does not work on Mac Mini).

Also, Lunar has this functionality as well (it is a paid app but has more functionality and more refined).
It is crazy given that Macs are used by millions of designers. Apple overlooking DDC/CI on the M1 chip makes me think that maybe these new chips are not the future of computing like everyone is claiming.
I think that Apple are aware of this problem as monitor companies would have informed Apple when the M1 chip was released. If DDC/CI support is released with the next Apple chip M1X or M2 then we'll know that it was overlooked on the M1 chip.
It's weird, I have an LG 4k monitor that is clearly designed for all the settings to be controlled through software (only control is one four-way switch). I was expecting it just to work and clearly lg were too. Hope it gets patched before the switch wears out!
