I'd like to alphabetize my Mail mbox folders

Have imported many mbox folders to Mail, creating folders with separate headings. I'd like to alphabetize them, but when I try and move a folder to a new position on the list it just gets filed in the folder above it. I can move a folder up under "On my Computer" but it doesn't automatically alphabetize. As an example, if I try and drag Travel below the Taxes-Swedberg folder,

it doesn't switch places but gets added to Taxes. Don't see a preference for alphabetize all or something similar. I'm on a new iMac with OS11.4:

Hi swedberg71,

Welcome to the Apple Community, where some of us do our best to help each other.

.

Discovered there seems to be a "knack" to overcoming the difficulty in moving mailboxes in Mail

When dragging mailbox to new position:

Ensure the mailbox you are moving , is way to the left, ie: in the margin, (not just "above"or "on" a folder) before you "drop" it.

Otherwise it will still likely go into another folder.

Takes a little practice.

Sorry, am no help with ordering folders automatically.

Apple have a "Mail" User Guide online, with a handy search function, and many tips.

(click "Table of Contents" for an overview.)
