"Other Volumes in Container" takes up lots of storage

Hi so I recently downgraded my MacBook Air to Catalina ( It went to Mojave and I installed Catalina back)

And I noticed something odd in the installation process. I have a 121 GB drive but why does it say "38 GB left" And I come to this

I've seen this before like 2 times. The first time was with Big Sur and now Catalina >_<. It used to be like 70 GB or something but it has increased to 80 GB! I want my storage back! Is there any way I can get it back without causing harm to the MacBook?

  • See used and available storage space on your Mac and the Official Statement on managing the Other category " Other: Contains files that don’t fall into the categories listed here. This category primarily includes files and data used by the system, such as log files, caches, VM files, and other runtime system resources. Also included are temporary files, fonts, app support files, and plug-ins. You can't manage the contents of this category. The contents are managed by macOS, and the category varies in size depending on the current state of your Mac. "

What is “Other” storage on a Mac, and how can I clean it out?
