Is the IPad Mini 3 compatible with current iOS?

Before buying a refurbished iPad mini 3, I want to know if I’m able to download apps and gaming apps for my kids?

Sorry no.

iPad Mini 3rd generation cannot support iOS versions beyond 12.5.3, because of hardware (CPU/RAM) incompatibility.

Current iPadOS version is 14.6. See compatibility here:--> iOS 14 and iPadOS are compatible with these devices
